Problems with my PC

Hi all.

I'm having an issue with my pc, it is randomly restarting. It I'll do it 5 mins into Windows or 5 mins into a game, but generally it's 5 mins Into a game. It restarts with no warning, and there are no dump files.
Specs are skylale 6600k, was running on 3.9ghz turbo mode through the asus mobo app, asus z170-a, 8gb corsair ddr4, evga gtx 970, Samsung ssd and 750w super flower psu.
My cpu cooler is a cooler master hyper 212 and temps rarely reach 35*c even when gaming.

I built this in February and it isn't used heavily either.

I'm also running Windows 10.

I'm ruling out problems with the graphics card as that would usually be blue / black screen. I tried installing the latest graphics drivers, doing a clean install aswell.

I tried stress testing the cpu with Intel burn in, and after 5 mins, the pc reset again. I then removed the overclock (turbo mode) through the asus app and tried again and got the same results.

So I'm currently thinking either motherboard or power supply.
Is there a way I can test them both to find out which is faulty?

Kind regards
Jason

Thanks for your reply mate, I will try another psu, I can nick the one out of my brothers pc to try, if that fails I will try memtest.

Thanks again

Hi all

Thanks for your replies.
I think the issue was my power supply was getting too hot.
It on my desk and pushed right into the corner, and the power supply was set to "eco", ive moved it away from the wall and changed the setting to "auto" and so far I havent had any issues.

Amateur mistake.

Thanks again.

So it's started happening again and this time it's worse.
My PC can be on for a couple of hours, with very light use then all of a sudden it will just reset, then it will load up and within 30 seconds it will reset again, then it will cycle this way a couple of times, until the PC goes to post, then reset, it's literally on off on off every 3/4 seconds at this point.

I never got round to testing anything, but does anyone think it's power supply still?

Cheers, Jason
