hey guys.

me headset :(
SP-001-RA_200.jpg

i have posted this aswell into a ticket at razor support to see what they say. is it my headset? what can i do to fix it... im really stuck.
this is what i sent them below...

hello.

i just recieved my new Razor Barracuda HP-1 headset this morning to fit into my system.
it connects into Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer - Fatal1ty Professional Series i have had this card for sometime and has run fine on my 5.1 creative surround sound with no problems.

i have been looking forward to a new headset. and these do not come cheap.
so i was hopeing i had the best there is.

but unfortunality i cannot get these to work correctly with the soundcard.
there is no problem with the card.

but it appears the headset is having problems with the bass line, and the front left inside the headset.
all of the other speakers work correctly. e.g left rear. work fine and i can hear them correctly.

the front left is sounding like its a mixture of front and right, but now quite there. (which it shouldnt be)
the bass line i cannt get the headset to produce any kind of bass at all.

i have spent awhile trying to adjust the settings on the headset control, aswell as my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer - Fatal1ty Professional Series control panel. adjusting from 5.1 to headphones, various speaker settings, and adjusting levels. the whole lot. i just find really let down at the moment.

and im unsure what i should do regarding the headset. as i know it shouldnt sound like this.
could you please offer some advice on what i need to do in order to get this headset to work correctly with my current soundcard.

thank you for your time,
Regards, Cezare White

correct me if I am wrong, but arn't you spose to set your sound card to either "headphones" or "2.1" if you're using a headset? Im pretty sure headsets don't work with anything more than 2.1 (since there are only 2 speakers in a headset)

You are wrong, the barracudas have 6ish speakers, designed to create a surround sound feel without having speakers set around the room.

As for helping, it really sounds as though there's something wrong with the set. All i can suggest is that you make sure you've connected everything up correctly + to the right plugs, as i had problems first as the colours didn't match up with my SC properly.

oh well, not used a razer headset before, so I wouldn't know. tbh though, Id'e rather stick with my 2.1 headset since I know it works fine :P

yep i need it set at 5.1

and they sound awfull at that. the front left and bass is terrible.

im not sure if anyone else has the same headset that can help me... and the same soundcard :?

id like to get these to work propperly... otherwise its another RMA time...
and probably wont get another one. i go for a cheaper one.

just stick to cheaper headsets mate tbh. Get one you know will work, even if its only 2.1 it really doesn't make much difference

My razer's work fine with onboard, like i said though i had to play about with the wires.

yea the colours are correct for each input due to the same colours on my 5.1 speakers.

i can heard the rest of the sounds when i test.
but only the front left and bass are not working correctly.

and as for the bass in any music, gaming, its very bad. there isnt any!
at the moment they sound like a high pitched 2quid set.

ive sent in a RMA while i wait for razor to contact me...
