Hi, hope I've posted this in the right place! Basically, my new build consists of:

NZXT Lexa Blackline
Intel C2D E6750
Maxtor 320GB HDD
Geil Ultra PC6400 2GB
Asus P5KC
OCZ SXS 600W
Sapphire Radeon X1950PRO

It really looks great..but now the problems..!

- The hard drive is meant to be 320GB but only 293GB shows up in Vista?

- I've got Vista Home Premium 32bit OEM, but there's no Aero interface only the Basic one..how do I get Aero?

- Finally...the main problem....I received a blue screen of death! This is also an old friend of mine... "ati2dvag.dll" stopped working...! I used this gfx card in my old PC and it was fine. Now however, it says that the display drivers aren't compatible with CCC so I can't run that, I updated everything from ATi's website but still the same problem any ideas?

Last thing actually....this is a big jump from my previous PC in terms of specs, yet it seemed to take the same amount of time while installing programs and its a taddd bit unresponsive...is this normal? I've not tried any games yet though, will do tomorrow!

Thanks for any help!

Thats normal for a Hard Drive. Once it is formatted you will always end up with less space. Also Hard Drive manaufactures specify that a GB is 1000MB when in actual fact it is not, so you loose some that way as well.

I would say that if you get your Graphics card problem sorted out Aero will be fine as it is depnedant on the gtaphics card.

I think it might be a good idea to uninstall all the graphics driver and the CCC and install them again. Make sure you download the latest drivers from ATI.

well 1 gigabyte (GB) is actually 1,073,741,824 bytes, so you can see straight away where the quoted space is going.

So, 320GB / 1,073,741,824 = 298GB - I can't explain the odd 5GB.. Must be something to do with the way Vista handles the file system.

use the basic video drivers and see what happens. most likely its the drivers. does it ahppen at any particular point, e..g opeingin/closing an app or anything?
