problems with new corsair

Hi there

I have recently installed some new corsair ram as per my signature. The ram is supposed to have timings of 2-3-3-6 at 1t. When I run my system at auto cpu speed (200), memory at 200mhz and my timings as 2-3-3-6 1t, my system crashes, not initially on start up but when i go to outlook 2003 and reply to emails, i get a nv4.disp stop message.

However I have managed to run the system overclocked to 220 at 2.5-3-3-6 and 2t and it doesn't crash at all.

Are there any other settings that i should fiddle with in the bios? Its annoying that i cant run the memory at the speeds it should be run at.

cheers for any help

hi there ,barnsta ...i order the same from overclockers ..it should be with me any time now Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2 ..the timing should be 2.5.3.3.6-t1 ....2.5 for amd ...2.0 intel ..if u getting the blue screen with white text ..& maybe pc restarting ...have u made sure the voltage is at 2.75 volts in the bios cos i had that trouble with my 1 gig of corsair twinx x 512 ..i found out the voltage was on 2.60 ..so i put it to 2.75 & no more trouble..

if u get that message have u typed that in yahoo search ? it as loads of links with others with the same trouble

Just tested this ram at 2-3-3-6 1T 2.75v and it had no errors in memtest for 2hrs, couldn't be bothered trying any longer as I need to get my stuff installed after format.

Hi,

I had the same problem running some Corsair at its rated speed?

3-4-4-8 (1T) was not possible? (on an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium) so back it went :(

hi interesting to read this thread.ocuk states that corsair 2 gigs can do 2 on amd but 2.5 is more usual.

there is a huge site somewhere (badasses maybe?) that lists all the ram revisions and what chips they use and querks(not tech power) ill find tomorrow.

but i think it says rev 1.2 xms c2pt 2 gig to be ch5/6 chips and i reckon those do 2.5

DDave are yours revison 1.1 and amd cpu?

these are bh5 chips and can do 2

others should try them round in different slots and memtest before certain of problems first:)

okay if youve got corsair rev 1.2 revision number is on sticker btw.Youre running at 1t and cl2 memtest stable, then mines going back.

what revision corsair you peeps have ?

No idea of rev as it doesn't say on the sticker and yes I have an amd cpu. I'm guessing it will be the newest rev tho as I just recieved them from ocuk yesterday.

well look at the link -Corsair revision numbers

thanks darren uk thats the site i was looking for.^

and thats the number that differs from the rest.

I have : XMS3202 V1.2
next bit (possibly week) 0524111-2

The weird thing is,mines totally stable/happy at 250 with 2.5.
Im glad you guys have good ram ,
id like to chat to other v1.2 owners to see what they have to add,if anyone wants.possibly leading to an rma type scenario -based on not being ddr400 stable at 2.0 as advertised!

but im glad we can say the later revisions are better, certainly than mine. :)

My old corsair sticks were 4400 and were suppose to do 275, 2.5,4,4,8, 1t @ 2.75v but my old board linited me to 270 and they did 270, 2.5,3,3,6, 1t @ 2.95v. lasted about 4-5months before dying.

My new sticks are 2gb 3200c2 and they are running as in sig. These are capable of 200mhz at these timings and volts but have to run them at 193 due to divider.
