I bought the ocuk 24 inch lcd monitor about a month ago(which now sells £100 less for what i bought it for),anyways i have noticed that when i play games i have downloaded after 20 minutes of play i start to get fuzzy interference on the screen and strange flickering lines like lightning.
Its been doing this when i play Far Cry and COD4 but if i run a game like doom 3 or fear from cd i dont get any interference.
This only happens when i run a game from the hard drive.
I have 2 hard drives, one vista and one xp and it happens on both drives.
Any ideas folks.

Athlon dual core 6400
2gb ddr2 800mhz ram
8600 256mb graphics
win vista and xp

PS - even lowering the games to the lowest resolution does not help.

Sounds like the graphics card could be overheating. If you have overclocked the card then drop it down to default. If you havnt overclocked the card then take the side panel off the pc and direct a desktop fan at the graphics card. If this helps then it points to an overheating graphics card. Whilst the side panel is off check the fan is working on the card.

It sounds like a game problem rather than a monitor problem. And if youre 'downloading' games you dont have much room to complain

:p
Help my moody downloaded games don't work properly but the ones i have on CD do. :D
Comedy Gold.
The Cherrry on the cake would be a downloaded virus from whatever Torrent you used :p:p:p

If I am wrong then Sorry but Let me enjoy my laugh first :D

Can you photo the problem at all? Would help to see it.

Could be anything really, dodgy screen, overheating or faulty video card (overheating CPU even), dodgy games, video card drivers etc...

I downloaded COD4 like many other people.

Nothing illegal in it. Why are you all impling this?

updated drivers?

check game into windows mode. also get dead pixel checker and do black and white lines to see if you have pix walk

dont worry about it . some ppl just assume they know everything about everyone

kinda wondered why some people here are more concerned about me downloading games, and the fact is i paid for these games and were not downloaded from torrents so perhaps the moaning t£^&t above should infact get his facts right before accusing folk of "Downloading via torrent",,i bet you aint exactly squeaky clean either pal.

I have tracked it down to the graphics gard so thanks for to the people here who actually had some helpful things to say.
Cheers

even if he did download illegally, there is no difference between that and the retail, apart from the fact you cant play online.. so theres no need to bring that as a reason for his problem..#

i would have suggested the GPU, but as you have already figured it out good luck on replacing it or getting a new one! im almost certainly going to get the OCUK monitor very soon so :D but im real tempted to set up a multi monitor setup
