Hi,

I'd been having issues with booting upto OSX following a system update, so decided to opt for a recovery. I ran the internet recovery, and had the "spinning globe" up on screen while it downloaded. Following a reboot, I get a folder icon with a question mark up on the screen (they typical grey booting screen).

I'm unable to use cmd + R to get into the system recovery, I've run the internet recovery twice now and got the same thing.

To be honest, I have my suspicions about the hard drive (despite only being a month old) but I wanted to check there's nothing else I can do?

It's a late 2012 Mac Mini

Cheers

Seems that the pxe boot is not downloading correctly or like you said the hdd is pants.

Try manually wiping the hdd with OSX disc, or even a windows/hiren disc.

I'd already done that in the recovery via disk utility - although I did leave the recovery partition intact. I have another hard drive arriving so I can try that to be sure.

Seems to be installing ML ok now after a PRAM reset. Is there any software I can use to test the hard drive once I have it up and running?
