Hey guys,

Got a bit of a frustrating problem at the moment, i have recently upgraded to Vista 64, so i bought another 2 Gb of Corsair RAM (in my sig) to bring my total amount up to 4Gb. Upon installing Vista without problems etc, i found that for some reason, it was only detecting 3008Mb (2098mb depending if i check the system panel) of it, instead of the full 4Gb.

The bios reports 3008Mb too.

I've checked the RAM by taking one out, leaving the other in, trying different RAM sockets etc, too see if maybe i had a faulty stick, they are both working fine, but i can never get it any higher than the above amount.

What's going on??

:(

I think i've fixed it now, i enabled memory remapping in the Bios, and its now reporting 4Gb of memory :)

There are no adverse side affects to enabling that is there?

I've the most up to date Bios, so i think that could be ruled out.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Yeah, it's description doesn't say anything to suggest it would help with that. But it was something i read on the Corsair forum, so i thought i would give it a whirl :)

And hey presto, it worked :D
