hey all, my new speedlink medusa headset arrived today...

but i can't seem to get it to work properly with my 5.1 speakers.

they're completely out of line (front left/right/center, rear left/right and sub woofer).

also the right side of the headset barely gets used :-/

i'm using it with a X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card... anyone got any ideas on whats up?

everything seems to be plugged in correctly

just had a bit of a play with tests in the THX mode
here's what the speakers are, and where the sound comes from:
by clicking on them, getting the lady to say "front... left"

test speaker | sound from speaker
front left | works
front center | no sound
front right | front left
rear left | works
rear right | works
sub woofer | no sound

using the assignment button, with the white noise
test speaker | sound from speaker
front left | works
front center | works
front right | front left
rear left | works
rear right | works
sub woofer | no sound

using polarity tests (playing sounds over multiple channels
test speaker | sound from speaker
front left+right | works
rear left+right | works
front left+right and rear left+right | works
front left+right+center | works
sub woofer | no sound

yep double checked all that... i've just unplugged all the cables and reconnected the ones to the soundcard and now the speakers all work... however.... my amp doesn't work now (sub woofer, no the amp with the headphones)

any more advise would be welcomed :)

great sound to the headphones now they're working btw :o

hmm... amp works fine with music just not in the THX testing panel

edit: unplugged the all three cables for the amp and plugged them back in... all is working fine

i'm 100% sure i hadn't plugged anything in the wrong way around - perhaps i've got duff cables :-/

either way seems to be working fine now :o
