Problems with system restore

Hi their ive just been sorting out the home pc and gave it a full system restore which went fine until when windows was installing the computer shut down.now when it starts up on goes to windows it comes up with a message saying that their is a error and the computer needs restarting which it does then it cycles to the same thing i dont have a windows disk to boot from either any help appreciated (its windows vista)
 
Have you tried going into safe mode, and doing a system restore from there?
 
I'll be honest Josh, I can't say I've ever had a positive experience with using any form of System Restore for Windows. Especially Vista...

What's the original problem in needing to use it?

As Kelt said, the next best thing would be to boot into safe mode and see if you can make/run the changes there.
