Problems with Ultima Mobile - 15.4"

Having problems with a recently aquired Ultima Mobile laptop.

I have tried a number of display drivers and the issue remains. When in 2d I get hatches of colour or greyish silver boxes moving vertically across menu tabs, device manager etc. These hatches are moving constantly.

On the desktop you also see what I can only describe as coulor flares across the wall paper. For instance if the wall paper is a bunch of green trees you would see the green sort of leak out and around the surrounding area. It appear like a solarisation.

When viewing the bios I see horizontal bars running down the screen similar to electrical interference on a TV.

Setup: WinXP SP3 32bit drivers used include the 9800M GTS driver from clevo's website. 179.48 mdrivers from nVidia, and DOX XP 182.46 drivers.

The strange thing is that when I plug an external monitor, these issues are not present on the external monitor.

This makes me think there is an issue with the screen. Device Manager lists a number of monitors. 4 default monitors, and a plug and play monitor.

I have sent a webnote, and yet to have a reply.

Since it occurs in the BIOS then I can't see it being a software problem.
Really does sound like a screen issue, perhaps a loose cable somewhere but you shouldn't open it up if it's still under warranty
 
It looks like its pointing to the screen, but I am also wondering if it could be another component causing the problem through some sort of interference. Its got me puzzled.

That seems to suggest it is not a GPU issue or it wouldn't display correctly on that either. So it must be the screen or a loose connection somewhere
