I recently purchased a Linksys WUSB6300 Dual-Band AC1200 Wireless USB Adapter, mainly for its USB 3.0 connection and compatibility with our BT Home Hub 5 which has 802.11ac.
I installed it using the latest driver download from the Linksys website. Device Manager shows 'The Device is Working Properly'. However it has given ridiculously slow download speeds and loses the connection with the wireless network and the internet after a minute or two. When running troubleshooting under Win 8.1 it usually resets the wireless adapter but usually either does not resolve the problem or resolves it, only for it to limp along and lose the connection again.
As I had completely lost patience I installed a Samsung USB adapter WIS12ABGNX which was immediately recognised by the PC, gives a stable connection and download speed of around 28Mb/s.
Can anyone help me understand the problem with the Linksys item before I return it to the store?
