Im currently used to sending my pc into standby when I finish for the night but ever since I installed Service Pack 1 for vista... only the monitor will switch off!

S3 state is set in the BIOS so can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong?! Ive been googling for the past hour and have come up with nothing useful.

This sounds as if you have the option "When Sharing Media" - "Allow the computer to enter away mode" enabled in power saving.

Control panel/Power options/chage advanced settings:

Multimedia settigns:-
When sharing media:-
Change to "Allow the comptuer to sleep"

I think I'll try it as well, I've had a few half sleeps with vista i.e. screen/mouse/keyboard powerdown but PC still runs and i cant get back to a desktop without rebooting the PC.
