Problems with x1800xt

I'm having problems with it (the one thats on offer

It fails to get to the BIOS screen, I hear the fan running at 100% and the system rebooting randomly. Everything is fine with my old x850xt.

Is it faulty or am I missing something?

I'm using an abit AN8 Sli motherboard (latest BIOS) with an enermax 480w PSU.

Are you sure it's pressed down completely into the PCIE slot ?

Give it a good push & try again.

Yep, this happened to me and it turns out I hadn't seated it properly. Also, don't forget to attach the required power cable to it (easy thing to forget!).

I found what the problem is, theres a component broken off from the card. I found it at the bottom of the anti-static bag :/

I have the exact same problem with same board and GFX. I've been looking at the latest Asus BIOS and it says fix POST hangs with some PCIX 16x cards. I don't have any spare ones so looks like I'll have to buy a very cheap PCIX just to update the BIOS and then refit the 1800XT

If the card is physically damaged RMA it asap.
