Problems with XFi drivers..

I've recently replaced my motherboard after having my previous one die on me. I got the same motherboard, but had to reinstall Windows as when my motherboard died it hosed my Windows installation.

I got everything back up and running apart from my X Fi XtremeMusic. When I install the drivers, it gets to the "updating system files" part and then just hangs there. It seems to lock up Explorer although I can still alt tab etc. When I reboot the PC, I have still have no sound... This is with the latest drivers off the Creative web site.

Any ideas?

how about in safe-mode?

Ahha, hadn't thought of installing them in safe mode... I'll give that a try.
