Problems

Latley, my computer has been freezing up, and on manual restart the ''windows bar moving intro loading thingy'' has been taking ages to finish, and somtimes takes me to chkdsk.

Ive also noticed a sort of screeching sound coming from my hardrive.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

Sounds like your hard disk might be about to go, how old is it? When did this problem start? Did you do anything just before this problem occured?

The hardisk is only about 5 months old..

The problem started after I set a password on the administrator account and made files 'private'.

Thats the only thing I done..

I'll try to defrag it, because I havent done that since I built the PC.

the HDD noise is not good mate, I would start backing up stuff
