Hi,

I installed this bundle which came in today http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-044-OE

The system does not want to get to POST there is no sound however there are lights on the motherboard I have made sure I have all the connections in place, I am not sure what is wrong.

Is 650 watt power enough for that bundle

I read that gigabyte mobo's take a long time to do POST from a cold boot, out of curiosity could this be the case, how long does this usually take?

okay I think my PSU is not gonna happen with this combination... Just realised that I only have a 4 pin connector for the cpu and yet no 8 pin connector, I haven't tried it yet but could I still plug in the 4 pin into the 8 pin somehow or should i jusgt give up and order a new psu? yep I did miss that connection lol

Sorry for double post but since it is a heavily oc'ed quad, could i get some sort of converter instead of having to fork out for a new power supply

quick update just tried it the 4 pin into 8 pin the lights turn off after what it seems like a successful POST one beep, so I think the problem is the cpu is not getting enough power

Alright I got the cable and it works however I hate to be a pain in the backside but I have another problem...

I have two HDD's one SATA western digital caviar black 1tb and an old pata drive, when I installed windows 7, I sometimes dual booted these hd's because of low end system specs before juggled between xp and windows 7. Couldn't run virtual machines well then.

Anyway now when I try just the sata drive by itself its missing Bootmgr etc as expected but when I try to run the PATA drive, it gets stuck on verifying DMI pool. I am now stuck wondering what to do

I would not try to run both a PATA and SATA HDD on the same system tbh. If you just want to keep one for storage, then leave it disconnected when installing windows and then connect the other one later for storage.
