Problems :/

I built my brother a pc around christmas and it was working fine but he decided to start playing games and the pc just BSOD's or freezes and now its started to freeze while watching movies aswell.
He said it happened more often when the monitor was connected to the gpu but still happens when using the onboard :confused:

Ideas anyone :/?

What are the specs of the pc and was this overclocked at all?

One place is to start is run mem test to ensure you all memory modules are ok.

He had a windows 7 upgrade edition so i sent it up to him with vista installed i'd done a quick bit of testing like mem test, I checked the HDD and used ATI tool to quickly scan for artifacts etc.

Try with taking you gfx card out ant just try your ondoard one

He said he's updated all the drivers, I doubt He'l want to even open the case so I guess up have to go up and sort it out for him :/

Has he upgraded yet or still on Vista?

Maybe the upgrade went wrong, try doing a clean install of W7 (How to).

Not sure if it would cause BSOD though.

I've had flash play up on me countless times. And AMD drivers.

Guide: How To Completely Uninstall AMD Graphics Drivers.

Uninstall Flash Player.

Get Catalyst 12.6, not 12.4.

Do make sure you close all your browsers before when running those instructions, then reboot and re-install flash.

Not saying it will fix everything but it's worth a shot.
