Probs installing console version

I have downloaded a few console versions of F@H for a few vistax64 machines I have. Problem is they are not installing as a service even though I say "yes" to run as service. There's a lot more options on the installer than there was a few years ago when I last done this. Wondered if I'm not doing something.

When i look in the registry under HKLM>System>Current Control Set>Services> Folding isn't listed.

Wondering if this is Vista problem?

F@H doesn't work/support services with Vista yet :/

lol "Yet" and we're onto Windows 7 now.

At least they shouldn't have to do much if anything to go from Vista to 7 :rolleyes:

The SMP client works as a service, but the GPU client doesnt on Vista.

Note: We do not officially support running the SMP client as a service, although people have found the following to work:

* .NET 2.0 & Windows SMP Client must be installed from the same account with full administrator privileges.
* using the -configonly flag, say "yes" to services question & configure everything else as you normally would. Do not start the client yet.
* Open the services control pannel, go to the new FAH WinSMP service & open the properties and click the Log On tab. Select Log On As: This Account (instead of Local System Account), put the user name for the account under which .NET 2.0 and the SMP client were installed. Enter the password.
* Reboot. The SMP client will automatically start in service mode.

Ok cheers..That would explain that then. I din't see anything in the sticky so maybe that should be changed as I spent some time trying to get it working.
