I bought Forza for the xbox but when i try to play it on my 360 i get the following error

The VGA HD AV cable does not support the PAL-50 setting required by this game blah blah blah

is there any way round this to avoid having to play it on my CRT telly ?

thanks for any help

BTW i use a Samsung 20" widescreen tft with my 360

yeah, same problem as halo 2 i think. sounds like you need to just use a non-HD connection for the time being to change the pal setting to pal-60, then switch back to your HD connection and the game should work then :)

I tried this in Forza and the problem is there's no in-game setting for PAL50/PAL60. Forza just uses the setting you have set in the xbox settings menu, which of course isn't available on the 360. I couldn't get it working.

I wanted to play it on my 19" acer 1916w with the vga to see what it looked like but it only runs 50hz so i have to play it on my standard tv with the advanced scart but it still looks fairly good .

in the display settings blade theres an option to change between pal-50 and pal-60 when your using a non-HD cable (composite etc). this option is disabled when using a HD cable like component or vga

So you're saying I could connect it up through composite, select PAL60, presumably run Forza and create a profile, then switch to VGA and it would work? I'll give it another go then.

doesnt work for me :(

connected it to my crt telly and tried both pal 50 & pal 60

still get the error in both modes

also tried hot swapping the leads at the back of the 360 but that made my 360 reboot

I never played this on the original xbox so I picked it up for 8 quid the other day to play on my 360. My question is, did it always run this bad? Its a great game but on a lot of the tracks the framerate really struggles and the audio is dodgy in places too. I wonder is this due to the 360 emulation? I hope other old xbox games dont suffer from these problems, because I was hoping to buy a few more classic games seeing as how cheap they are. Has anyone experienced problems on other games?

I actually bought Forza for £1.99 brand new on the high street the other week. No idea why really as I have no intention of playing it :D

i'm fairly sure that's the emulation limits, it happens in a few other games aswell, such as kotor2 in some places

but when i tried forza2 on my 360 it didn't seem that bad but i was playing it in SD at the time
