Hi All,

Wondered if someone may be able to offer some advice.

My brother has bought these:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-086-OC&tool=3

To go in an BFG 680i Sli Mobo with an e6600 intel processor.

Previously the above was OC'd to 3.2GHz with 2GB of corsair 800MHz, unlinked so memory was running at spec.

Initially couldnt get it to boot at all with this memory in, but now have after lowering CPU frequency, but even at stock were getting random bluescreens etc and its just not stable (Manually set volts to 2.1 and timings via SPD).

Im on i7 myself now and am a little out of touch with his setup, I also noticed when when we did boot into XP it only showed 2.5GB. I know that this is down to it being a 32 bit OS but even in my old install of XP on my i7 with 6GB, 3GB is still available.

Ultimately, I just wondered if anyone had any ideas of how to get this thing stable whilst maintaining the original OC, have I missed something?

Thanks in advance.

Merry Xmas!!!

Link doesn't work :o

~3.25GB is the upper limit of a 32bit OS I believe, however I remember XP limited itself to 2.5GB and uses the remaining ~750mb for other things, hidden from the user. There is a way of disabling this but I can't remember how.

As for the BSoD'ing, have you updated your drives and XP to their latest?

if the 4gb of RAM you bought is by OCZ then that could well be your problem, i had so many problems with both my 680i based boards because of OCZ RAM.

Also is the RAM pc8500 or 6400?
