Im fairly new and im looking for a processor and mother board to hold 4gb DDR2 ram and is core 2 duo. dont want t spend a lot of money though.

How would i go about getting a quote from OC?

Thanx all

Looking to build it yourself yeah?

I don't think OCUK build PC's to a users requirments but people around here will help you chose the right mobo and proc...

How much do you want to spend and do you need the RAM or do you already have it?

Also are you overclocking or just looking for the cheapest mobo and proc?

What price are we lookign at? For a motherboard you really want to get a P35 board. So your looking at 76 quid for the (gigabyte which is a decent board, or into the hundreds for a more equipped and overclocking friendly one. i would personally recommend the abit ip35 pro. The abit bios menu's cant be beaten for simplicity and they overclock really well. Id not checked ocuk prices in a while, id definitly shop around if i was you.

For the cpu there is really 2 bargin choises:

Q6600 it will overclock to 3.6ghz on air which is by far fast enough and is a great buy. Or the E2180 which will overclock to around 3.2/3.4 i beleive and is a very good bargin indeed. However you will need to overclock it otherwize it is 1.8ghz. overclockign is raelly simple. Do not be put off by it just because you do not know how to do it yet. People can help you and you will be flying in no time. All i did was read up about it and stick around here and i learnt how to do it quickly.

I wouldn;t get someone else to build it. It really is surprisingly simple. Here is a guide to read into: http://www.corsairmemory.com/systembuild/report.aspx?report_id=78237&sid=2 (moev to next page right at the bottem of the screen).
