Processor bottlenecking?

I have an e6400 @ 3.2Ghz and I'm wondering if its likely to be bottlenecking my 4870? I know its a fairly old chip now hence the thought

any dual core at 3.2 should be fine with any of the new cards - maybe less so with xfire 4870 or a 4870x2

I think it's a slight bottleneck with a 4870x2.

My system usually plays GRID fine at 1920x1200 maxxed settings, but with about 15 other cars on the track, things can start grinding. GPU usage is less than 50% but CPU is maxxed.

It's no way bottlenecking a single card.

A good rule of thumb for gaming is to spend twice as much on the graphics card as the CPU.

This is especially true at higher resolutions, like I assume you are running on your 24" screen.
