Processor Cooling Fan Loud, any idea?

Hey, lately my CPU cooler fan has gotten louder, it usually only went faster/louder during games like Battlefield 3 and when i was rendering vids for youtube, but lately its getting louder during any game.

Is it worth giving it a clean out, i cleaned out my case dust filters and the pc but not the processor fan, should i try that.

My CPU cooler is a Xigmatek HDT-S963 running a i7 2600 @ 3.4ghz.

I would monitor your system fan speeds first mate,they could be spinning at 100% or near.

Any tools you can recommend for that, i havent ever checked my cpu's temps before or fan speeds

Clean the CPU cooler, you'll be suprise how much dust can get to it, and the difference it makes.

Before even opening your case and taking fans out,Do what i said first monitor temps/fan speeds you can do this in your bios or download a program such as,coretemp,speedfan.

Post back your overclock,temperatures,fan speeds.

Im not really sure what a cpu temp should be at so im concerned as its quite high

54c is fine for a 2600 !

I'm on my netbook at the moment and can't clearly see the results,I'll be home soon and will get back to you.

Edit:Your Temperatures aren't the worst ever tbh,I would lower you fan speeds I have mine set at around 900rpm and my rigs near silent.

I used tuner to change the fan speeds, they are now quiet and idle at 55-60
