Heya, a couple of years ago :p I won a Dell xps m170 at a multiplayer uk Lan, was chuffed to bit cos obviously they were worth a lot in them days :p

Ive recently run into some sort of a problem with the processor though, according to system specs this should have a processor running at 2.23ghz Intel pentium m780 Dothan core (yes its the top of the 3 options) however according to CPU-Z its only running at 1.7ghz (100 x 17) now ive had a quick look around at power options seeing if it could be a power saving thing, hell i even had it under full load to make sure speedstep wasnt installed in those days, but ill be buggered if i can find a solution.

Anyone got any ideas?

Speedstep changes the CPU Multiplier rather than the FSB. It would appear as though the FSB is incorrectly set. The Pentium M 780 does indeed have a 17x multi but the FSB should be 133, not 100. Does CPU-Z pick up the CPU String as a 780 or something else?

recognises it as a m780 id take a ss, but it isnt having it atm :p
