Hey all,

My Grandparents computer has a fried Processor, wondering if someone could link me to the equivalent replacement on the OCUK website, in the sticks right now and its painfully slow to browse the site, cheers!

PSU is a Corsair CX 500W. No idea how, my Grandad has a talent for breaking the unbreakable, but swapped it out with an i7 3770k from my micro and it works fine with that.

CPU below will be fine:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-3240 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £85.99
Total : £94.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

That's nowhere near the same as a 3770S. The i3-3240 has only got two physical cores for a start, vs the 3770S's four, it has inferior onboard graphics, doesn't support PCI Express 3.0, and more. Check out this comparison link.

I expect OCUK could get the 3770S as a special order. If not, it's readily available elsewhere for a bit over £200.

Just thought I'd say we ended up buying him a tablet and keyboard instead. All he really does is Skype with family spread across world, play some Solitaire / card games and some occasional word / excel.

Thanks all :)
