Last year I purchased this set up from Overclockers:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 4.00GHz / Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 Motherboard / Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 Tri-Channel DDR3 Bundle

A few days ago, when I booted up the computer received a message similar to Boot MRG missing or corrupt.

I sent the computer for repair to a local PC Doctor, I have now found that the boot information looks to me to have been changed and is not overclocked.

Belarc Adviser:

2.70 gigahertz Intel Core i7 920
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
8192 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (4 total)
Hyper-threaded (8 total

I am not technically minded, but is there any easy way of replacing this with the original boot configuration?

Go into the BIOS and hopefully press F12, Overclockers may of saved a profile there for the overclock - Assuming the pc repair place did not update the BIOS.

I am sure if you send a webnote to the OCuk they will be able to help you out. That would probably be the simplest route, unless you want to learn how to OC your PC yourself. In which case track down the stickies in this forum and the i7 thread in the cpu forum and have a read.

If your brain turns to mush after the first mention of blck, pll and vcore I would send a webnote.

Many thanks for your replies.

I have gone into the BIOS and pressed F12, and found the Overclockers

bios. load it up and message came back: Boot mrg is missing.

I have had to revert to previous bios settings.

I will send a message to Overclockers to see if they can help.

Lol damn local pc doctors, well would be nice to blame them if they're anything like one of them where i live, never using them again i tell you lol. Hopefully OcUk fixes it for you mate.
