Processor upgrade - bonkers prcing

I have a Gigabyte socket 1366 and for the less than a 990X I can but this:

990x is a 6 core cpu wheras that sandybridge E chip is a quad core

So what ?

Sorry I was thinking of my other PC! This one is definitely 1366 (as in sig) - have amended the OP

You say you have Socket 1155, where does the 990X even come into this conversation?

Socket 1155 = Sandy Bridge

990X = Socket 1366

3820 = Socket 2011
