Processor upgrade required for 1080?

I am definitely getting a 1080 soon.

Should I worry about upgrading my other stuff? It's all in my signature.

If I upgrade my processor that means motherboard and memory as well so won't be cheap.

I want to get a Vive in a few months, so I ran the Steam test and it came out green, apparently I can run high quality VR even now with my 970.

What do you guys think? I am more than happy to wait for the next generation of processors and upgrade then, be it next year or even 2018.

I am contemplating upgrading my 2500k to a 5820k over the next couple of months, yours is fine I would imagine though.
