I know Haswell overclocking is supposedly a bit of a lottery, but for my new Bitfenix Prodigy build I want to at least give myself the best chance of getting a good overclock, which means upgrading my Hyper 212 EVO.

Ideally I'd get a high end air cooler (Silver Arrow SB-E, Mount Doom or whatever), but I'm concerned about the space in the Prodigy. Do those kind of huge dual-fan coolers fit in there?

If not then I guess I need to look at closed-loop coolers, which is annoying as they seem to be significantly more expensive for insignificant performance benefits. But anyway, if I need to go down that route then is there a consensus on the best one that will fit in a Prodigy?

Cheers guys.

I would imagine your best bet is a H100i with push-pull, although the gains of going from push OR pull to push AND pull are minimal, so i'd try with 2 fans first. Only downside - you'll have to lose the optical drive (if you have one!)

OcUK have the H100 for £40 at the moment on pre-order, which is a cracking deal so if you can get one of those, it will certainly be a good alternative which will fit nicely in the Prodigy, albeit without the optical drive.

Motherboard was going to be the ASRock Z87E-ITX.

However I have just found out my PSU (see sig), which is a 160mm modular unit, will seemingly be a huge pain to fit inside the Prodigy. I don't want to have to buy a new one so I may abandon the whole idea tbh and stick with my Define Mini.

It's not like it's that much bigger anyway, I just really like the look of the Prodigy.

Does anyone know the most badass air cooler that will fit in a Define Mini? I'm pretty sure NH-D14, Silver Arrow and K2 are all too tall. Noctua NH-U12S perhaps?
