Professional graphics card ? Help please

Hi all, we have fixed suppliers for PCs and generally have three choices, low, medium and high specs. I need to add graphics cards to the high spec models ( i7-2600s with 16GB ram ) for staff who will be using Adobe Creative suite master collection, Photoshop, illustrator etc. These will be dual 22” monitor setups.

I had a look at the entry level Quadro 400/600 cards ( not going to be able to go past £200 per PC ) but they don’t seem to be particularly powerful, GTX 460/480s seem to offer a lot more of everything !

Am I missing something ?

I'll give this a bump.

Tbh, not something I know a lot about, though I always thought the high cost of these cards was in part due to the very fast memory and support / drivers that you had access to.

If its not 3D work I would buy cheaper cards and stick the money into higher end displays which have good calibration and colour accuracy like an Eizo ColourEdge or an NEC Spectraview.

If you look at an Apple Pro workstation they don't come with Quadro cards, that should tell you all you need to know.

Just make sure you have enough VRAM to run the required displays at the right resolution.
