Our oven needs cleaning, and it's my turn. To be honest I'm thinking about getting someone in to do it for a fee as it's a job I loathe that much. I'd rather work an 8 hour day to pay for it than spend 2 hours cleaning it myself!

Anyone got any recommendations?

I've got an ad here for cookerburra.co.uk, which seems to be an appliance cleaning franchise. May give them a call tomorrow unless anyone suggests otherwise.

yell would be helpfull, we have somebody on a local facebook group who does it, they do an amazing job for about £30 quid. Mine is well overdue a clean like that

Might seem OTT but have you considered selling it and buying one of the newer ovens with the built in pyro self cleaning function?

Might save yourself money over time.

Someone put a leaflet through our door. The previous occupant left it in a state but £40 later it was almost as good as new.

Oven pride is the cheapest, even a skinny wealking like me needs no more muscle than a good gaming session to clean out the oven with a sponge and a bucket of hot water.

£4 or less if you shop around, over night soak and 1 hour of more wipe than hard graft.

You'll never get the same finish using ovenpride compared to a proper over cleaning company. They have the tools and chemicals to do absolutely everything and it comes out spotless.

We rang around and in my local area the national chains came out as the best price. I think it was around £65.

Oh and I forgot, Sugar Soap after all the oven pride, then once over with warm water. Seriously shiny for less than £6 and an hour of wiping.

obviously not if it's not been cleaned in years but if you do it every 6months or so you can keep them looking new

Does anybody actually do stuff for themselves nowadays?

Rub and scrub.. get your elbows in and work out a sweat... That's what I tell the Mrs :D

Oven on full, pot of boiling water in the middle.. self steam clean ;)

might not be safe if it's an electric oven ? doubt the fan in fan assisted ovens are rust proof or fully sealed anyway

Oh please, you think they have access to liquid unobtainium, unlike mere mortals? :p

They use the same variations of caustic soda (Sodium Hydroxide) just like everyone, they only tool you might not have is a blade scraper.
