Hi Everyone,

I currently have a website that I extensively adapted from a template written in CSS/HTML.

My site is now in need of a refresh and the easiest option would be to use and adapt a wordpress install, especially for keeping it up to date.

Is wordpress suitable for a professional site? I have used wordpress on other websites with SEO plugins etc.

Bit of an open question I'm afraid, but interested in all responses :D.

I haven't room in my budget this year for a professionally written website, and the more I look into this option, I seem to find more and more template adapters and rubbish in general, the decent guys seem to command serious money!

Thanks,

Andy.

Hi kae2,

There are many professional websites that use WordPress, take a look at Stephen Fry's website as an example. Scroll down to the footer if you don't believe me :). If you find or create a good template, then WordPress would be more than enough.

Thanks.

Thanks Moose :)

I'm really tempted by Wordpress, mostly for future updates as just a quick edit in a CMS is easy peasy and can be done from any computer, so I'm more likely to do it!

go wordpress. can update from android/blackberry/iDevices too. sorting out a template is pretty easy, but with millions (literally) out there it shouldn't be a problem! You could always make a child template of twentyeleven if you want...
