Hi Overclockers, I'm hoping for some advice on some of the pre-built or rather pre-configured systems.

Quick background; I used to be able to work this out and build these about 15 years ago... but I've been out of the loop somewhat and the landscape has vastly changed. I am a film industry professional, and part of that involves editing modestly heavyweight commercials and documentaries, and will be using Resolve Studio primarily on 4K / UHD timelines. I'm also an avid gamer, fast first-person shooters, VR (Alyx etc) and racing.

I have been using Apple systems for straightforward simplicity for the last decade, but since covid happened, the landscape of the media world has somewhat changed and I am building an edit suite/gaming studio at home. I currently have a fantastic and reliable Macpro 5.1 absolutely beefed to the gills but it is sadly coming to the end of keeping it current thanks to the end of native support for its hardware and the operating systems and software are starting to vanish. I also have another cheerful gaming rig, nothing fancy, 1080ti sort of thing, fine for everything at 1080p but not a beefcake.

I still have a new Macbook pro, but I want to downsize to a single PC system at home. It needs to be quiet, reliable, stable, fast. Davinci Resolve and strong 4K gaming important. Ideally, it will allow 3 monitors, I have 2x 1080p working monitors and a central larger 4K screen for gaming and monitoring during edits. Ideally a LOT of fast I/O, a thunderbolt card would also be extremely helpful.

Budget, 4k inc. vat is my upper limit, plucked from thin air, so tell me why I do or don't need to spend that money if I don't need too. I don't particularly want a cutting edge system that is 'marginally faster for 2 times the amount', so a 'sweet spot' system if that makes sense?

My initial research largely from Puget and advice from grading and post houses tell me the AMD Ryzen / 3080 is a strong base, but open to suggestions.

Thanks again in advance!
