Hi.
Can anyone help me with this:

Im trying to get it so that a certain set of machines on our network have different start menus to the rest of the machines.

Ive created a test OU, stuck a computer in there, and began testing with a new GPO for it that redirected the start menu to somewhere else on the network, but it doesnt want to work.

As it stands, start menus are allocated by user type (staff, pupil, ect; ). I would like to change it so that if a computer is within a specific OU, that that over-rides the user based redirection and redirects by computer instead.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance all. :).

Depending on your AD structure you could just block inheritance of all other GPOs at the OU in question and setup a single GPO there with the settings you want.

I was thinking about blocking inheritance, but couldnt find the options for it.
Would that not block every GPO option though? Rarther than just the option i want?

Fixed it.
Did a loopback, entered GPO settings from previous GPO but now with different start menu redirection, seperated the computers in AD with a seperate OU, tied that OU to the new GPO, all working fine! :D
