Hello,

My dad has bought a mac and likes the way Windows adds a grey background to Photoshop and programs like that. Is there any way to add this background to Photoshop in Mac?

Thanks.

P.s. Don't shoot the messenger. He likes certain things in Windows that he doesn't get from a mac.

Thanks guys, but I think he wants it to stick for every time he uses photoshop, also for any other program where you can see through it to the desktop.

Apparently if he clicks the desktop by accident while in photshop it changes to the desktop and he has to click the PS icon to get back in to photshop.

I know you say your dad likes certain things from Windows, but he'll be better off if he sees that having his desktop instead of the grey background gives him a little more functionality. Sometimes when I work in PS I like to have the folder that I'm currently working in peeking out through the 'gaps' between the document and the palettes so that I always have easy access to it to grab files I may need and so on.

It will obviously take some adjustment on his part but if he makes the effort to adjust himself to Mac OS, rather than adjusting Mac OS to mimic Windows, he'll find extra functionality and features, rather than disregarding them in favour of 'what he's used to'.

Agreed, having a gap can prove invaluable when you need to grab a file .

It's not for everyone though; admittedly the first time I used it I was "uneasy", soon came to see the light though :)
