program files (x86)

Quick but however important question.

i am new to windows 7 64 bit and need to know if i create a program files folder on a second hard drive other than the OS hard drive can i install 32bit programs or do i have to do it on the main hard drive. Also will it make any difference if on this second HDD i have a normal program files folder and a program files (x86)

As far as I know, the two different program files folders are simply there for the purpose of organisation. You can certainly install the program to a different hard drive if you do so wish.

Do whatever you like, wherever you like... so to speak .

As Larry has said, the default structure is there purely for organisation, not a requirement.

Oh and just as an FYI, you can only have one line of text under an image in your signature and yours has gone on to two.
