Does anyone know of a program that can lock the refresh rate of a monitor so it cannot be changed? I fried the horizontal output transistor my Tri-Sync display monitor, just buy changing the screen resolution within windows xp from 640x480 to 800x600, as the monitor can only handle upto 60hz, and the set refresh rate for 800x600 was @ 75hz.

As i dont want this to ever happen again, i was woundering if there was a program that locks out all other screen refresh rates, as every standard SVGA monitor driver i have tried still lets me select refresh rates above 60hz

Can you not just tick the box that says 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display' in control panel / display / settings / advanced / monitor ?

That will hopefully stop this from happening again.

I can, but because this monitor doesnt have its own drivers, it uses just plug and play drivers, which also give refresh rates of 60, 70, & 75, even if i have the 'hide modes that this monitor doesnt support' ticked!
