Program that kills those pointless "Processes"?

I used to have a program on an older PC that when you started up would close a lot of pointless processes under task manager automatically. I can see a lot of I-Tunes stuff that I can close, some ATI programs and so forth.

Anyone know the name of such a program? Have searched the forums but cannot find anything.

If it was free that would be even better. Cheers!

Kill them with msconfig? Or use ProcessExplorer from Microsoft's Systinternals.

as marc said, msconfig for stopping unnecessary processes and services.mcs for unwanted services all through run
