Hi all.

I would like a programme to download TV program's - like Lost, Prison Break, etc, etc.
Is this possible/legal?
I am a sky TV user and looked into Sky Anytime for the PC, but they don't do a version for Windows Vista. :(

You can buy the episodes usually from the makers of the program. Fox sell 24 for example, any other programs are illegal.

It would be illegal for getting shows that you would normally have to pay for channel to see them on, but since you already pay for Sky and are paying for the channels, I'm not really sure on the legality of downloading them? But as for other people pointing you in the direction of where to get stuff like that, I think it probably wouldn't be allowed, other than as Energize mentions where you can visit the stations sites and pay to watch the episode :)

The only legal way would be through some service which has a right to distribute them online - for example, Sky Anytime, or any other place that might let you pay for episodes (though I doubt there's really anywhere open to the UK for most shows).

Having paid for the right to watch the show on television, or to record it from TV, does *not* give you any legal right to download a copy, and you will still be breaking the law if you try to obtain a copy through illegal channels, for example P2P programs.
