Howdy,

I'm having a major music organisation. One thing which annoys me is I miss new albums or there are albums from bands I don't have.

I was wondering if there is a program which will search my music collection and then list the albums I don't have and show me ones which will be coming out soon.

I usually use wikipedia but it's a long a tiresome process.

So anyone know of such a program?

Thanks,
Tobes

You want a peice of software to tell you what music you don't have?

How is it going to know, unless there is a database out there with EVERY peice of music written EVER, and your music is named EXACTLY as it would appear in the (impossible) database?

Just check the charts for new stuff.

For older stuff, last.fm is perfect for this, search the albums artists you have and it recommends their best albums, or related artists, which usually turn out great :)

Albums I don't have by artists I have music by.

So... say I have a couple of Metallica albums, it will list the one's I don't have by them.

Mediamonkey has no problem correcting the ID3 tags from the amazon or CDDB website so don't see why it can't be done.

I'm not asking it to list music I don't have by everyone. Just the music I listen to.

LeperousDust. Most of the music I listen to does not get in the charts. As for looking at last.fm, it's really the same as looking at wikipedia. Technically last.fm is actually a wiki.

He is being specific though.

He means, if he has say albums 3 + 4 by artist A, then the software/search would tell him that album 1 + 2 are available.

He doesn't mean, for artists he doesn't have anywhere...

EDIT: ROFL Beat me to it! lol
