I have 4 gig of ram i would like to test but.

Anyone give me a program other than memtesy86 because i do not have floppy drive and stuff

I havent got any cds guys i just want a decent program to test ram.

I ran a program called memtest just double click and put in amount to test i am nto sure if that program is good enough though.

Basically when i play games it dont happen all the time things get about crazy corrupted graphics purple textures on game objects, starts to chug and it will eventually lock up all together or crash to desktop i have had a blue screen in the past.

The test i ran i did for few hours but not sure if tested properly i 4 in the amount of ram i have and it ran.

Runs inside Windows, and Dev says to do ideally you run outside Windows but that's a cheap as chips Pro version he also does.

I can verify its good and used it for years as I do not like the other Memtest as at times it does not pick up errors.

Yes the free one will prob need 2 instances ran and there is a limit in Windows of how much can be tested at one go (the App will tell you and how many to run and how much to set Ram usage in each).

The Pro one does it all for you Auto.

Remember in Vista, the OS will try to steal back Memory if needed by another App so it may drop a tad over test.

It says i can only do 1000 at a time so i can only test 1 gig and i have 4 gig 2 on each stick abit akward.

If i try test more than 2 windows the last do do no boot up.

I used it with 4x1GB and 2x2GB (Free and Pro).

Took 2 or 3 instances running.

You need to run it manually 3 times (click the .EXE 3 times and drag them left to right (you wont see them as they are on top of each other).

It will warn you how many times it needs Executed and how much Ram to set in each.

Ok so i have first window set to 1394 second window is set to 1096 and the third window is just set to all unused ram not sure if that is right i did just click on all of them and put in the ram it said the third however just went right ahead.
