Programmable Mouse Profiles

I'm considering a new programmable mouse, like a Logitech G700, a Corsair M95 or maybe even a Razr Naga. One thing I'm confused by is, many of them say they have 6 profiles, or 10 profiles, or 15 profiles, allowing you to set up that many sets of bindings.

Is that a total number of profiles allowed, or is it per game?

I'm currently using the microsoft sidewinder x8, and it has 1 profile per application, but you can set a different profile up per application, with no limit to the amount of applications.

Since I do play a lot of games with slightly different bindings, and use a lot of applications, I'm a bit concerned that even 15 profiles might not be enough, if that's the total allowed.

Am I misunderstanding, or is the stated number of profiles the maximum allowed?

Thanks for finding that.

I just downloaded the manual for the corsair G95 gaming mouse. It said it had a limit of 6 profiles stored on the mouse that you switched manually between, but also could have any amount of profiles stored on the PC that could be linked to exe files.

So looks like it varies with vendor. I'll avoid logitech programmable mice then.
