What sort of programmers do we have here?...

Just wondering how i can contribute to the community and would like to get an idea of what you guys are about...

What is your primary language & Other Languages you use?

Edit: How can i do a poll on here?

I'm a c#/ asp.net developer working mostly at the moment with SharePoint / Microsoft CRM though i pretty much do whatevers asked with regards windows apps etc / bog standard web development also.

C++ I have done a full ray tracer, interacted cluster driven distributed mandelbrot viewer, various opensg projects and a game demo.

Java I have done a full ray tracer, various projects at uni, business systems development where I currently work, game demos etc.

PHP I have done a small collection of websites.

I like the idea of PHP but I suck at it. I'm probably best at Java but its very slow development. C++ is hard to set up the working environment (it was linux based). Thats my experience.

How Rude... I didnt even introduce myself

Im 16 years old... With a strong interest in programming.

Ive had about 3 years experience working with C#.
Im very fluent in VB.Net,C#, HTML and i know abit of php...
My strong point would be networking, Client->Server based applications and the use of packets.
I've recently been learning Win32 C++ and have created a server for the popular mmorpg Conquer Online. However my server is still very basic.

I'm mainly developing in (ASP).NET, but maintain some VB6 & ASP Classic applications. I used to be a GIS specialist, but it's been a while and many moons ago used to work thankfully-obscure stuff like AREV and other PICK-based platforms.

Primary Languages:

VB.Net
C#
ASP.Net
Objective C
Python

Industry:

Did 5 years in the gaming industry when I left school doing optimisations on C64 and Amiga games, left that and went into industrial software solutions and now develop bespoke applications for businesses around the UK working for myself.

Current projects are a RFID inventory and job monitoring system for Honda, a digital signage solution covering the UK and a stock awareness application for mobile phones.

Hi,

My name is Alistair and.... uh... I'm a programmer.

Primary language: C++,
Primary interest: Graphics. I was a graphics programmer on Haze for the PS3 at the now defunct Free Radical Design. I now work in the broadcast industry, writing a renderer that is used by the world's television companies (BBC/BSkyB/Fox/CNN/HBO etc etc).

I also dabble with C#, and the .net framework in general.

Plus I've done freelance web development in the past, so everything there, PHP/HTML/CSS/ASP.net yadda yadda

Vb .net, php, html, css, java

Lookings to pick up C# in my spare time over the next few years as a progression alongside the others.

Primary language

VB.net - would be C#.net but i have a long history with Basic programming and can just work faster with it.
Embedded C - mainly for Microchip products

Others

C#.net

Amstrad Basic - now im showing my age

Current Job: Software Developer for a small firm that specialises in logistical business, e.g. Royal Mail, DHL, etc. as well as not so typical logistics for companies that deal with special items, e.g. body parts. No, not the mafia, but medical and scientific deliveries such as organs for hospitals. We write the software they use for their job. :)

would also be interesting if people put up there wage or a rough amount of how much they earn at these jobs :)

Not enough.

But seriously, there are plenty of published salary surveys out in the wild, and besides, I wouldn't trust answers you will get on here.
