Programming laptop

Asked this question in the laptops section and didnt get much response (not a duplicate thread) I am looking for a laptop to use for programming. Key needs are quad core (for vm`s) hd screen and good battery life. Not sure if I should be looking for an ultra book type of laptop or a gaming laptop. Any recommendations ? not fussed about graphics card as wont be gaming, just need something which can run visual studio 2013 and several vm`s.

I use a Dell M4700 at work, Not cheap but 16gb ram and nice I7 means I can have multiple VMs + multiple Visual studios open at once. it also supports 4 monitors (with dock) which is nice as I have soo much real estate.

Settled for Lenovo Y50-70 12gb ram, quadcore cpu etc...
