Are programs that free up ram worth using? Because i have 1gb of ram and usualy i'd have 800meg free when everythings loaded up but i only have 600meg and just wondering if one of these programs would help?

As i could do with the extra ram, and im not sure whats using it up, ive checked processes and nothing using a lot.

In my opinion I would say no, the fact that you have a program running to free up RAM is actually taking up the resource it it trying to make more available.

Assuming you are running Win XP you would be better off stopping some of the windows services, there is a good guide on these forums if you search.

Check the sticky at the top of this forum ! (Can't beleive i didn't see it first time!)

Thought these proggies were rubbish.
Something about windows paging info it will need to ram, if you wipe this info and windows needs it. it has to search the hard drive, much slower.
XP does a good job of handling memory
