Programs to optimise Windows 10

Over the past few days I've noticed that my PC is running very slow. It seems to be lagging when I click icons to open files up and also the web browsers. I have a 960 evom2 harddrive with windows 10 and then a raptor 1tb SSD for programs 16 Gig of RAM and an 8770K processor. I have run both Malwarebytes and Bitdefender and both come back as no infections.

i have seen a few programs that claim to clean up the windows files to restore it to like new again. Has anyone tried any of these?

I really don't want to a new install. I have updated the drivers of the MB and GPUs any advice would be great!

Windows 10 has its own reset function. You can reset and keep data or reset and lose data.

Those third party "clean up your pc" things either don't work, or make other problems, or are malware, stay clear.

Try turning off all the spying stuff in windows, that might help. I use this. https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/

Have you looked in task manager to see if cpu or hdd usage is stuck at 100%?

Check resource monitor, I'd bet on your disk being at 100% I/O. If it is, the process/service doing that might be the culprit.

Found out what it is. The program I was using is on the mechanical hd. Windows backed up onto that and the drive was fragmented to hell!

Defragged and it' running smooth now. Thanks for the reset tip did not know about that.
