One of my old rigs is running a 3570K at 4.6GHz and is a good old workhorse but I wanted to give it a wee bit extra kick while I wait for the RYZEN 4000 and B550 MOBOs.

I got a couple of deals from the MM and just thought I would see how the difference in performance would be but, according to a certain comparison website, there may only be a 10% performance gain between the 3570K and 6600K despite being a couple of generations and three years apart.

I know that I should see an extra boost by moving from DDR3 to DDR4 but is that all there is between a 3570K and 6600K - 10% improvement?

You wont see much improvement moving from an old i5 to a slightly less old i5.

You'd have been better off looking for a Ryzen bundle with a R5 2600 or similar, and even then it's assuming the stuff you use the PC for can make use of the extra threads.
