I have been using my 750D for around a year now and have been feeling the upgrade itch for the past month or so. I had been keeping a very close eye on the 80D and the best deals I have seen have been second hand on the bay for between £600-£700. I then stumbled across a 77D on the rainforest's warehouse for £500. Opinions on which one is better are mixed with a slight favour towards the 80D however most of these were down to the price point of 77D with most reviewed prices being around £800 so I'm wondering does the £500 for a pretty much brand new model (most likely open box return) represent better VFM over a £650 second hand 80D.
FYI, I only do stills (mostly landscapes) no video so the video benefits of the 80D aren't really important to me.

Any advice fully welcomed!

Well that's a point I guess, are either even a significant step up from the 750D? There would always be an argument to save up and buy something better still.

All sound advice, and I think the last few points are what I'll do. If I continue to develop my interest I will most probably go full frame in the future, at present any full frame options that I can realistically afford i.e. 5D Mkii or 6D Mki do not represent much of an overall upgrade for the cost given their age. I have been upgrading my lenses recently, including a Tamron SP 70-300mm EF lens so I will phase out my EFS lenses for EF over time so that a jump to full frame won't be as big a hit when it happens. I also sold my Canon 18-135mm which was an excellent lens but I bought a second hand Sigma f2.8 17-70 and it has to be the best lens I've used to date, it has definitely helped me improve.
