Hello fellow modders and builder!

Upon finishing my MSc dissertation I have decided to relax by rebuilding my current system and add a few extra parts Ive had lying around for a little while now.

Current specs:
Intel Core i7 920 D0
Asus Rampage II Extreme
6gb OCZ Blade 1800Mhz
Sapphire ATi 5870
2x 64gb Samsung SSD's in RAID0
Some Raptors and some other data drives :p
Mountain Mods Ascension Duality: Black Wrinkle Powdercoat

Current I only have the CPU watercooled, thanks to the untimely demise of my 4870X2. However I now plan to add my graphics card and motherboard to the cooling loop which is the main aim of this rebuilding project :)

I know many will argue the effectiveness of adding chipset and mosfet cooling, but I am going for aesthetics as well. I am going for a blue and black colour scheme. Not original I know, but it works for me :)

I shall be using the following watercooling gear:
Laing DDC-1T Ultra
Heatkiller 3.0 1366 CPU Block
EK Asus X58 Mosfet Kit - Acetal
EK Rampage II Extreme Full Board Block - Acetal
EK 5870 Full Cover Block - Acetal
2x Thermochill PA120.3 - 25mm Spacing
XSPC UV Blue Dual Bay Reservoir
Akasa 120mm Blue LED 1600RPM case fans
Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM case fans

I am going for a single loop rather than dual loops, with the order of

Res > Pump > Rad 1 > CPU > Mosfets > Mobo > Rad 2 > GFX > Res

Tomorrow I will steal my mums camera and get some pictures up and make a start on taking my beloved system apart in preparation for the rebuild.

This is the first time I have attempted to log a project so please bear with me as I waffle on :)

Thank you!

Hello! Time for a bit on an update. Its taken a bit longer than anticipated to strip down my system as it was, but now I feel I am starting to make some basic progress.

Here is the case in its current, rather empty, state.

And I have hijacked the whole house whilst it is only me here....peace and quiet to get on with things :)

I have started some basic preparation of the RE2 Extreme, seems to be looking good at the moment, I think some nice UV Blue hose coils around the black tubing will look good. I also fail to see the appeal of compression fittings, I think I had more problems with those than I ever did with barbs and clips or ties....maybe that is just me though.

Massive pile of stuff at the moment, and I seem to be constantly accumulating more. Nice lass in ******'s yesterday forgot to charge me for 2 rolls of wiring, paying only for one, nice £16 saving there.

Next on the list is to give my radiators the last coat of paint, then I can start the long painful process of wiring and sleeving. I am thinking of daisy chaining all the rows of 3 120mm fans into one 3 pin connector for each row (like we do for radiators, but for the whole case instead).

Lots to do!
