Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB DDR2-800
WDC HDD 80gb
BFG 7300 OC

Danger Den DDC-3
Lots of 1/2" tubes

Hi,
I am making a modded case..

Things that I am doing:

  • Paint all the inner metal satin black.

  • Make all the green/purple plastic red.

  • Fit resevoir on top of case, with holes for tubing.

  • Fit radiator in the case on the top ajacent to the PSU. Also cut grill on top of the case for radiator fans.

  • Create a mesh window to see through

Will bring pictures over the next couple of weeks..

Ok here is a rough sketchup in google...

The one on the left is the case with the side panel on... The sidepanel will consist of acrylic, which will have my name laser etched onto it (with LEDs highlighting this). There will also be some funky patterns above my name. (Yet to be created)

As for the one on the right: That is the insides. You can see the res on the top of the case, and the radiator just beneath it. I am considering whether to paint my motherboard black with red capacitors or not.

The PSU will be modded with white cable braids to make it look nice, and I am planning on using mesh for the HDD cage...

Pictures as promised:

Hard to show what the engraving will look like although it will look better with LEDs stuck inside the acrylic.

Thanks

Will be watching this with interest. Been meaning to do something about my soprano for a while now!

Yeh.. Sopranos are really really boring. Especially the bad choice of green and purple for the drive bay holders. What were they thinking!

Look what arrived this morning:

(Testing from 12V with 390Ohm resistor - all works :D)

What arrived this morning (all that (40 LEDs, 80 Resistors, 11ft of wire, On-off-on switch) for £5a:

Yay! Time to sort out that acrylic.

What my circuit will be when it is completed tomorrow:

1/4 of the LEDs wired in now:

As you can see it looks quite bright all over and especially in the right corner where the LEDs are.. I assure you it isn't like that. It is because of the camera settings to make it visible.

There will be 6 leds of each colour on each side of the window. That is 6 red LEDs on the right.

Some more top class wiring makes the LEDs 1/2 done:

(Remember there will be green and red on EACH side)

(Tried backing up... Oh well. Will get a good result when my tripod arrives)

Got to work out a way to stick them to the case and keep them there. For show I am using LX tape so you can see what is happening!

Thanks

Looks cool.

You might want to get some heathrink on the legs of those resistors/LEDs, they look dangeriously close to shorting out.:)

I got some spray painting done, but time to concentrate on GCSEs unfortunately. Unitl June I am not going to be able to update this. Sorry!
